Look at my new goodies
I recently put on a voltage regulator, 2 new batteries, all new battery cables, and a starter. I cleaned up my wiring disaster some and put heavier gauge wire on starter solenoid and GP solenoid connections, also added a heavy ground to the fender and frame. I never dreamed the truck could turn over and start this quickly!
starter is a reman from NAPA
Duralast voltage regulator and some of my rats nest cleaned up (I know it still needs some more help)
Left battery. The batteries are Duralast Gold, new tie downs, positive cable is a factory made cable from NAPA.
Right Battery. NAPA made new ground cables for me, they are also 2/0

thats looking better Luke.
she start's just like she should now hey.
the best part about bringing them back up to par like this,is you look forward to cold spells, just so you can enjoy her starting easy still lol.
tip for ya;
(works GREAT!)
grab anything you have laying around for grease,and smother your new terminals with it.you won't have to touch them for a long,long,long time.keeps the corrosion from ever forming.iv yet had to remove my terminals to clean them since install,and that's been around 2 yrs now.they're just lead too.i didn't grab the tinned marine ones (because i knew grease works so well.)
best to pull off the post,and then lube the posts,and inside of the terminals first,and then a nice messy coat smothered on top for good measure.

Yeah it must be starting up like it did when it was new. I have new beru glowplugs on a push button rig along with all the other stuff so I should be ready for those cold mornings for sure. I spent a small fortune on all of this stuff (I'm usually very tight with money) but I am very happy with the way it turned out.
