I'd like to thank everyone for their kind words and support. It's because of you guys that I hang out here. You're all awesome. I know I've learned at least as much here as I've contributed. Thanks!
Great postings Wayne, I know I have learned a lot here. Don't even have to ask the questions most of the time but they get answered anyway.....good job.
so I figger you should hit 4,000 before the middle of next year ..therabout's ...do you think your gaining steam ..or running out of things to teach us???lol..
I forgive you IF you tell me why my 54 F100 doesn't have a key lock on the drivers side door. I've had the truck 10 years (yes, been working on it that long) and just tonight I notice there's no key lock on the drivers side door. And no sign on the inside that there ever was one.
It was considered dangerous to enter/exit the vehicle from the driver's side into traffic. Thus, no door lock cylinder on the driver's door. The driver would lock the door from the inside and exit outside through the passenger door. The pass side door would then be locked from the outside.
In 1951 and 1952, Ford offered an exterior lock on it's 5 Star Deluxe equipped trucks. Not sure if the same was offered in the new design trucks starting in 53.
I second that... to everything everyone else has already said. I don't think I've ever asked a question on here that hasn't been answered in less than a day by you veteran posters. Congrats on the 3000 mark, looking forward to the next 3000! Thanks for all your help in the past year that I stumbled across this site!
