New to forum: Dentside Cummins Swap

Hi Gang, I have spent many hours looking in on this forum, and found lots of useful info. I am getting ready to embark on a project. I am about to buy a 1979 F250 Super Cab 4x4 with 3speed auto, appears to be a short bed from the pics. I will ask the current owner tomorrow what bed configuration it has. I am planning on swapping in a Cummins, I have a very talented friend who is a fabricator who will be assisting me. I have a line on a 2001 donor dodge w/ 24V, NV 5600 2WD that was rolled.
My first question is: does the F250 Super Cab 4X4 have a divorced transfer case, and if so, how difficult will it be to adapt the NV5600 to the transfer case?
My second question is: is it going to be a nightmare swapping in all the electronics and fuel management from the donor into the dentside?
I have searched the forum for a similar build with no luck...
Thanks for the guidance and sorry for any newbie misteps,
Matt

4btswaps.com

Check out 4btswaps.com. I got all of the information that I needed from that site for my 4bt swap into my 77 F150. They also have threads for other engines and will more than likely have 24 valve swaps you can check out.

Hi & welcome. I BELIEVE the '79 Supercab should have a married 205 t-case.

As far as doing a divorced 205 behind the nv5600 - get a 2wd 5600. I have a 2wd NV4500 going in my '74 crew with a divorced 205 & it looks like I may have to shorten the middle driveshaft just a bit.

As for forums - check the motor swap forum on here. There's also a BUNCH of good cummins swaps into dentsides in the shop/fabrication/swap forum over at Dodge Cummins Diesel Forum

They will know what to do about the electrical - and also probably ho to go about putting the married 205 behind the 5600 if you want to.

A 24V does not require much wiring. Use a toggle switch for the grid heaters. See my gallery for info.
