P0112 Code for 5.4L V8...need help please

I have a 01 F250 SD with the 5.4L V8. I am getting a P0112 error code which is Intake Air Temperature Circuit Low Input. What exactly doe sthis mean and what do I need to do to correct the problem. I went to my local Ford dealer and they offered to help. I spoke with my employers fleet mechanic who said he has never experienced a P0112 code.

Do I need to replace the Air Tempature Sensor (Motorcraft DY735) and if so where is it located?

Any help would be appreciated.

J.B.

I am surprised no one has input. I can't imagine I am the only one having this problem.

Fixed P0112 Code

Just an FYI, the IAT sensor is part of the MAF at least on my 01 5.4L engine. If you look at the MAF and there more 4 wires your MAF and IAT sensor are combined. Once tou take the MAF out of the intake system you will see the MAF sensor in the middle and the IAT sensor to the right.

I have the Haynes Manual it it shows the IAT for the Diesels engines but not for the normnally aspirated engines.

Anyway, I replaced the MAF/IAT, cleared the code and everything is good. No more check engine lights.

SEE PICS IN THE ALBUMS IF YOUR INTERESTED.

So the MAF and IAT sensor are the same and cannot be seperated?
