ABS problem

ABS problem
Hello,
I have a '94 E250 that has an oddball problem. I just replaced both calipers and both rear wheel cylinders. However, the ABS light is still on. I plan to change the master cylinder next. Before I do that I'd like to know how the warning light is triggered. The light comes on as soon as the key is turned, and goes off as soon as the engine starts. About 5 or 10 seconds later, the light goes on again before the brake pedal is even pressed. How does the system detect a fault before there is any pressure in the brake lines? Is there any test I can use to find the problem before I change the master cylinder?

Take it to a Ford dealer and have them read the codes.
Then post the codes back on this thread and we will try to help you.
I do not know of any other way to or place that can read the codes.
Maybe a shop that does brake work can read the codes also.
You need a adapter to go between the scanner and the brake system. The adapter will cost about $100.00 on ebay if you can find one. I know as I have an adapter from ebay to read the codes on a 1994 van.
But I do not have the scanner as it takes a SUPER STAR II tester #007-0041B. An they are about $1,000.00 on ebay.
The adapter to go between the scanner and the brake system is #007-00580 along with the #007-00103.
The are part of the Essential Service Set TKIT-1994-F/FM/FLM/LT.
007-00580 is the NGS ABS Adapter Cable.
007-00103 is the Breakout Box Adapter.
You will also need a 1994 Ford Shop Manual for doing the test.
All of the above adapters applies to the 1994 E-series van only!
No other year!
