every bracket that i have ever replaced on any ford truck , be any spring mount , or radius arm brackets , i always drilled the holes out to 1/2" and then used grade 8 flange bolts with the same flange nuts and never had any problems !
Just saying if I were looking at a truck to buy I would pass on one that had bolts holding the pieces on. I would pass on buying my own truck if I had not done the work. I get real touchy when it comes to frame work.
I can see what ya mean there. whether or not they would scare me off all depends on the quality and type of work done on the rest of the truck (and its price!). I plan on doing a frame off resto one of these days and i'm pretty sure there is other crooked parts on my truck so having the mounts for my radius arms out of whack wasn't much concern to me... If your confident in your work though, cutting the rivets off isn't a bad method.

I did a CV IFS swap on mine and in the process of doing a TBird IRS. There is no way I would buy my truck if I went and looked at it. Not that I think the work is unsafe just that to me frame work is core/foundation work. If I am going to own a truck with frame alterations I am going to be the one doing the altering.
I do understand on these old trucks that sometimes the radius arm mounts are wore out from neglect and would need replaced so that would be a legit reason for bolts BUT if they were neglected it would make me wonder about the rest of the truck. Not that it's fault of the current owner just the way it is with old vehicles.
