Wow....the box/bed looks pretty good....Have you thought about just getting rid of the subframe and dump hardware & setting the bed back down onto the frame?
Not bad for a rattle can paint job...It looks really good in fact. It brings to mind the old addage....there's nothing more permanent than a temporary solution!!

I really wish I could just take it out and set it down. Unfortunately, the sides are very loose because the framing is rusted where it meets the sides. She has 1/2" to 1" gaps from rust in some places, sides are full of dents, 1/4" diamond plate welded into the bed as most of these trucks had done to them. the front of the bed is very bent out of shape, don't have a tailgate for her and the wood has gotten so bad underneath the diamond plate that it's starting to fall out. Unfortunately the next 3 weeks are going to be very busy for me and the truck's going to sit in the garage with no attention. Then I'll have about 2 weeks to make sure she's ready to go to Back to the 50's weekend at the MN State Fairgrounds. I'll look more into doing something with the bed after that. Right now, it's there and it works Plus I think the tilt bed will be an interesting thing at the show for now. I still have to get her over to the exhaust shop for some new driver side pipe work and my new alternator will be in Monday. My generator was to shot to rebuild into a 12V generator

Got a little more work done on the truck the past couple days. Here's some pics of the work. Got my new alternator installed and wired in as well as a modern AM/FM CD player with Ipod attachment. Cut and bent a 1/8" piece of sheet steel to form a brack to fit where the old glove box fit, cut the hole for the stereo, painted it black and It looks good and the stereo sounds great

Got the old girl out this morning bright and early to head over to the exhaust shop for the new pipes. I ran Flatheaders with 1 3/4" pipe, smitty glass packs and finished it off with more 1 3/4" pip bent 90 degrees out the sides right at the back of the running boards. She sounds absolutely beautiful and since today's the first time I've really gotten to drive her, I've had her out all day!!! She may not be the best looking truck on the road, but she sure is fun to drive! Now it's time to get together with some buddies for .

Thanks Moe! I've had her out every second I've been able to with the stupid weather patterns here in Minnesota and when I haven't been working on my 1969 Chrysler Newport Convert w/ 383. Fuel delivery system seems to not want to pump any fuel even though it's brand new front to rear. It's really starting to get irritating. My grandpa bought her brand new in 69, he passed away in April 2001 and I now have the car in my second garage stall. I hate it when she doesn't run!

Yeah, I've replaced the entire fuel system minus the tank. I just recently got the car from my dad who bought the car from Grandpa. While replacing the rubber hose coming out of the tank, I found total muck and crud. I ordered a new tank and sending unit for her today and she should be on the road by this weekend. So now I'll have some tough decisions coming as to which one I want to get out since I have a Harley and a 79 Ford Lariat supercab longbox w/ 460 and 38.5" TSL Thornbirds. To many toys is a curse!!! Next project on the agenda is to get the engine freshened up in my 1966 Hondra Dream 305 touring that my dad bought brand new and handed down to me about 8 years ago as well as getting the frame off resto of my 52 F1 going. My wife's going to leave me if I don't stop working so much

Great looking F-3!
I have the identical hydralic pump and cylinder setup on my M-3, but mine doesn't sit that high off the frame (see pic). I too think the tilt bed is a cool idea, and I want to keep it on mine. However I would like to get rid of the the pump on the engine, so I'm checking out the possibilty of fitting an electric pump elsewhere on the truck so I can still operate the bed.

I have a hoist on my '53 f350 and I won't be taking it off. I think it just makes them more interesting. When the truck was being used daily the hoist was used a lot. Your truck looks great and I'll be looking for it at the fairgrounds in June. Mine isn't ready to drive, but maybe next year. My pump is driven off the right side of the 4 speed transmission. A shaft goes back to the pump by the hoist.

Do you have any pics of the setup on your F350??

I have an old 74 Honda CB360 with the 6 speed transmission too, but she's in pieces. I'm trying to get rid of it and hopefully someone that would like to put it back together again will get it back on the road. It was really rough when I got it. Needs both tires replaced and a bunch of other work. I might rebuild it, then sell it, but if I do that it'll be a while since my other projects definately take priority
