gauge pillar questions

I am in need of gauges, egt, trans temp, and boost. What are the best bang for buck gauges? I don't need the best but i also don't want them breaking in a few years. How hard are they to install? I am very handy with that kind of work, i know how to do everything from install full blown stereo systems to installing a lift kit, to rebuilding a 450 mx motor. Also, i am confused on the different types of gauges.

Im looking at these
ISSPRO EV2 3 Gauge Kit R60043R | OC DIESEL

I am low on cash, so would it be better to just install a get gauge. The truck is a 2002 f350 CC, LB 4x4 lariat. 4" turbo back exhaust, DP tuner(40,60,80 tow, 60,80 econ, decal, high idle), Fully built sun coast tranny and large cooler and TQ. i usually tow 10k pounds or less.

I was thinking of just a get gauge because i highly doubt that tranny will over heat since it is over kill for what i tow(previous owner spent the $5k on it).

Anyway what are the best DIY quakes or kits to use?

If I only had 1 gauge to have it would be an EGT, second would be a fuel pressure, closely followed by trans temp. You could look into a scangauge which will also help with diagnostics. Price wise, I have had great experience with GlowShift Gauges. Not the best but were always accurate for me.

BTW, Clay has better pricing than what you posted. Riffraff Diesel: RDP Triple Gauge Kit

I have a 4 gauge ISSPRO setup I bought from Diesel Manor quite a few years ago. Everything has been working fine except twice I've gotten funky readings and had to clean out the connectors (trans temp and water temp sensor connections).

At the time I didn't have a lot of cash so bought a trans temp gauge first and a cheapo mount b/c it was my first concern. Then later I bought a 4 gauge setup minus the 4th gauge and installed it all in the A pillar. You could do the same and just start with EGT if you like. If you've installed stereos you won't have a problem. Just take your time. Looks like the new ones don't use amp boxes so it would be easier than mine.

I wish trucks came standard with these gauges. I wouldn't want to tow without them, my truck on Jody's 40hp tow tune and a Walker BTM muffler will creep over 1250 on a hill if I'm not watching (towing).

Sweet those gauges from riffraff are a deal. What is the AIH delete? Will it effect my decel tune? Also, is that a reputable site?

You will like the Isspro EV2 gauges, they are all electronic sensors, easy to install, LED backlit and best of all Made in the USA.

With our kit you will not only be saving about $55 you will also be receiving the wiring harness, AIH Delete, and your pillar painted.

Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks

Here is a link on the AIH delete to help you out. It won't effect anything except taking the obstruction out of your intake and allowing a better place to mount your boost sensor.

I got my gauges off eBay, only because I wanted a certain look and autometer had it. I paid about $350 for pyro, boost and trans temp with a 4 gauge pillar pod so I could fit my dp switch in too.

Clay has a great deal, mine did not come with the AIH delete (obviously) and I had to buy my own drill bit and tap (all from Clay BTW). Oh and my pillar wasn't painted, so I had to chase down paint and DIY it.

Clay is a great guy to deal with, super fast service and very helpful. I wouldn't reccomend anyone other than Clay for all of your needs!

I recommend Clay any time I can. I have his gauge kit, and he makes it very easy. You have everything you need, and dont have to worry about getting the right paint. Give him your paint color and he will take car of it for you.

Here is my ISSPRO kit from clay. My ONLY complaint is the top gauge is a little hard to read in the day at quick glance, but I think that is due to the dark colors (green/red) for the EGTs. At night they are great!

okay so before i order this i want to make sure of a few things. I have the 2002 lariat leather interior so im guessing that is the medium flint grey color? Also, i have the mag-hytec deep tranny pan that has a 1/8" temp sensor port, should I use the tranny pan port or the top one that is above the pan?

you said the EGT guage was hard to read, was that becuase you put it in the very top of the pillar?

Im going to order the guage pillar, black/ red pointer, flint grey, and also the anti-surge wheel. Do you recommend buying a new o-ring for the turbo?

8E is 42/20/40 seats in medium flint.

Use a new compressor o-ring. Talk to Clay, he knows what you need.

Yep, medium flint is correct. You will want to use the test port in the transmission instead of the port in your pan IMO.

The Borg Warner compressor wheel comes with the turbo pedestal orings and the compressor housing o-ring as well so you should be set.
