Bilstein 5100 Shock install with VIDEO!!!

The steering stabilizer was an easier install for me than the shocks. Maybe cuz there's only 1?
Oh yeah, and I was able to redirect my dissatisfaction with the factory one by beating the heck out of it with a BFH, followed by a shot right into the trash. That was worth it though, felt good to get that piece of crap out of there.

Just finished the install of the Bilsteins. All I can say is WOW! It is amazing how differently the truck handles. I still feel the same amount of bumps and the ride even feels a little stiffer. It's the improved steering and handling that blows me away. With the old shocks, if I hit a bunch of small bumps together or a significant bump in a corner, it felt like I was going to lose it. The steering wheel would get all sloppy and it felt like I wasn't planted to the road. Now, I get no play in the steering wheel and it feels much tighter and more responsive. If I had known it would improve my steering this much, I would not have ordered the stabilizer. But, it's supposed to be delivered tomorrow and I'll go ahead and put it in anyway.
The install took longer than I had planned (2.5 hours), but went OK. Can't wait to see what the stabilizer does and how all of this feels when I'm towing. I feel like I have a new truck.

installed the stabilizer today. at first couldnt get the tapered pin loose. tried to the gentle approach, than tried bangin on it with a hammer. neither worked. then i tried a pickle fork, and nothin. then i got a pitman arm puller, and the thing popped right off super easily.
as for the difference, AMAZING!....its the missing like to the equation. makes a world of difference. unreal.

I too did not feel like i was lacking. Nor did i experience the death wobble. Nor did i want to though. I do have some washboard sections of road around here that would give me a good bounce when traveled over. With the Bilstein stabilizer, the steering feels tighter, more responsive over bumps, and far less vibration over bumps. Totally changed the dynamic of the steering over bumps. The shocks didnt make as much of a difference for me as I replaced the junkos when they had 200 miles on em.

Well, every one on this post has me convinced to upgrade my shocks to the 5100's on my new truck with only 1600 miles!
Question.....I park my truck in the garage and have al leer camper shell on the back of the F350 and I only have one inch of clearance above the camper shell on the garage opening. Will the 5100's cause the rear of the truck to sit any higher?

I have gone on a couple of sites and they do not have the 2012 models yet.
I have a F350 Crewcab Fx4. Are they the same as 2011?
Are the 5100's for stock or lift? I do not want a lift
I put in the the part numbers (24-186018) and it said that does not fit my truck.
Can some one clarify? I am not much of mechanic.....

I can't comment on the 2012 as mine is a 2011 F-250 and I have a 2" leveling kit. My part number was 24-186018 and the rear was 24-186025. However, by looking on the Bilstein website, it appears they are the same. Here are the links for you to confirm:
Front, 0-2" lift, 4wd, CC
Rear, 0" lift, 4wd, CC
You need to click on "View Vehicle applications" and scroll all the way down to see your 2012 listed, but it is clearly on the list.
