96 f150 timing

when should i change the timing chaing on y 96 f150 it has over 245k miles still runing good

I would say its time to replace. You probably still have good power because the computer has advanced the timing, making up for the slack in the chain.

but the computer cant make up for cam timing lost from a stretched chain. . . .

i bet youll gain a lil bit of throttle response by changing it. misewell swap the cam too for one of the efi-friendly ones.

And I recommend a double roll timing chain.
