1966 F250 hub caps
I am new to this forum and classic Ford trucks, so I thought I'd put this out there for your thoughts... I am thankful to have found such a complete and original truck with extra goodies. In the cab, under a radiator and a set of cool vintage valve covers (which are now on my 390), was a set of these hubcaps. I understand that these only work with split rim wheels. I have a set of newer 16 x 7 wheels that I powder coated red to match the origianl paint. Are these rare and/or desireable?

Thanks for the info Buzz44. Here's a shot of my current newer wheels. I'm assuming they are "outies" as any hub caps would go over the center section. I love originality, and as cool as the hub caps are, being "innies", I can't use them on mine. So, CS65, maybe we can work something out. Have your people call my people...

That is what I am beginning to find out, 66CC. I am doing a little more research and will let you guys know if I will let them go at this time. CS65 and Boss9F100, I'll keep you posted. Apparently Dennis Carpenter only has hub caps through 1965 and 66's aren't to be found. I appreciate all your feedback and comments.

These hubcaps are called "bottlecaps"....and they'd look sweet on your truck...I have'em on mine.
Mine are 16x6.5 rims with tubes and rag tires.
If your truck has "innie" wheels then these hubcaps will work. By "Innie" I mean that the hubcap mounting
tabs (4) are on the inside of the center section where the lugs are and they stick inward toward the lugs...
"outties" have the hubcap tabs outside of the center section.
These hubcaps are not only for use on split rims, but also for non-split innies. Those
wheels are very rare (I searched the country for them!...have 5). One thing as well, the F250 Bottlecaps
are a little deeper (to clear Dana 60 rear axels) and larger than F100 ones.
The D.Carpenter ones are not as robust as originals....by the way...the F-250 ones are extremely rare...

No one reproduces bottlecap hubcaps for F250's, these are larger in diameter than the type used on F100's.
These caps have 12 \_/ around the outer edge. Are called bottlecaps because the \_/ resemble bottlecap removers.
Only one type of bottlecap is repro'd...the 9 1/4" O.D. stainless steel version used on 1961/66 F100 Custom Cabs.
All F250/350's thru 1966 have "Innie" wheels and hubcaps. 1967 was the first year for F250/350 "Outie" wheels and hubcaps.
And...F350 bottlecaps are a different diameter (10 3/8") than F250 bottlecaps (10 1/2"), so y'all better measure the puppies to make sure what they are.
btw: One FTE member (not sayin' who, but we share the same first/last names) was unaware of how rare F250 bottlecaps are...made clocks out of two of them.

Rarer yet FoMoCo made same cap in Stainless Steel for the 16" Wheels.
