Can a 2000 F250 2wd transmission be used for a 4wd?

You can swap it in and go to 2wd, or you can have them both disassembled and the 4wd built back with the heavy duty parts from the 2wd. Its the tail section that is different and unlike later models its not possible to swap the main bodies and bolt on the 4wd section, its integrated into yours requiring disassembly to make it so.

Hard to say, is heavy duty an upgraded clutch pack? Or is it the internals were replaced with billet parts, valve body worked, pump upgraded, better solenoids? Nice rebuilt, low miles, maybe 250-300, high end low mile rebuild maybe 600-700. I could be completely wrong it's all in what 1 person wants to pay, that's all you need, 1 person to pay your price.

I converted my 74' F-250 2wd to F-350 Dually running gear. Dana 60 front from a 2013 F-350 and a M300 rear out of a 2018 F-350. 4.10 gears.
I have a 4spd NP435. Adapted a NP231DHD transfer case to it out of a Dodge.
