I wish I had more time to get to this thing. It rained last weekend, and it was my Saturday to work this weekend. Today I went to the junkyard to find the last bits for the later model tailgate swap, and to pick up a couple of Christmas presents for my buddy and his '84. I found him a tailgate in cherry shape from an '86 F250. Needless to say, he's gonna crap when he finds it under the tree. Hopefully next weekend I'll have some free time....hopefully.

Oh...and I *may* have an '87 F150 coming my way....FREE! I'll possibly know next week.

Damn! I want to be your friend if you're giving away tailgates! haha. What would you do with the '87 if you get it? Does it run? As for having no time, I'm with you on that.

As for the '87...

I've been seeing this girl for about a month, picked her up to grab some dinner and just happened to be driving my truck (left the Hyundai at home). She says "My dad has a truck like this in his backyard, I think it's an '84 but it doesn't run. He'd probably give it to you."

I immediately said yes! Turns out it's really an '87 2wd supercab short bed. I have yet to see the truck in person, or actually meet her family for that matter. I have no idea what motor/trans combo it has or what I would even do with it. The guy just wants it out of the yard at this point.

Well just don't get stuck in the chimney with that tailgate, would be real hard to explain.

I hope it doesn't rain this weekend...the paint needs to get done soon. It's driving me crazy. The crazy hot summer is finally over, now I'm battling the rain...

Things I still have on the plate:

*Paint...If the weather and time agree.

*Door lettering. I have a buddy that belongs to a lowrider club, knows an amazing stripe/letter guy.

*Wheels...I'm probably staying with the steelies, but they need to have some kind of cap or center to finish them off. It's actually really bothering me. Being 4x4 makes finding a center cap for the front a real pain.

I'm actually looking for the push thru style that are 3.5" in diameter. The ones you're talking about are held on with 3 screws right?

I thought about getting a set of those for my 4x2 truck. But, I would really prefer to have the Western ones that go with my Western wheels. Now, if I could only find some.

I had a set of very similar wheels many years ago and the center caps were similar to the ones in this link;

Except they were chrome with black inside the lines and didn't taper. They also said Western on them, and they snapped in from the outside. They had a similar slotted appearance of the Western Hurricane Cyclone Wheels.
