I agree. I retired on 2000, but went to Afghanistan as a civilian contractor 2008-2010, working in communications. I was shocked by the lack of discipline, the lack of respect shown to the leaders (Non-Coms, Warrants and Commissioned officers) and the just plain laziness of some of the troops. If anything was getting done, it was usually the Warrant Officers and Commissioned officers that were doing it. I watched Captains assign tasks to PFCs, who then refused to do the work, and nothing happened but the Captain ended up doing the work.
Basically a reflection of the societal attitude we have fostered with all the PC BS these days, wouldn't want to hurt any feelings. Met a guy out here on the rig that just got out of the USMC, he said one of his last duty stations was on Parris Island as a markmanship instructor (PMI) he said the straw that broke the camels back for him was a DI had to police brass on the firing line at the end of the day for "being too hard on the recruits".... Come on man, really.

I would love to live down south in like Texas or somewhere but I would miss winter. The only reason I hate it is because of the salt we put everywhere that rots cars out I paid a crap load of $$$$ to fix my rust issues. The northern states keep car companies in buisness lol.
Plus when is snows its easier to do donuts and nobody drives in the snow unless they got 4x4. Last winter on was driving around on a road with about 1.5' of snow to avoid traffic...thank you Nitto! Lol took 45min off my commute.

Nice, lol. I picked up a set this spring, been great so far, unreal how they chew through mud.
but I was worried how they would do in the winter, not much siping, good on ice?? Sounds like you like them in the snow, so that's good
