The local Air National Guard wing here has a couple of trucks like that...'05-'07 SD and some vintage Dodge. They use 'em for pulling carts loaded with ordinaces and I think maybe the generators used to start the planes. I've got a buddy that works there (in a different department)...but I think he said they're very low geared. Seems like he said 50 mph is about all you'd get out of one...but they'll pull out any stump you can tie to the hitch. Wonder if it'll turn on a dime & give you 9 cents back?

I'l love the see how the rear suspension is designed... do the front of the rear leaf springs mount under the cab?

gig i agree. fronts are coil springs and i bet the rear is rigid mounted. if all of it service is at an airport, then it should always be on smooth ground.

I'm thinking the "drive shaft" can't be more than 6"-8" long. I'm thinking the rear of the tail-shaft housing would be under the rear of the cab...or there about. I wouldn't have much use for one, but I'd still like to look at it...from a mechanical standpoint...for a while.
