I don't recall having to loosen other bolts when I did the cam swap in my Mustang. It should come right out without having to jack on anything. There is going to be gasket material that seals it but try using a small pry bar or screwdriver and breaking it loose around the edges first.

Well Congrats on the milestone so far. I guess that was the best way to do the job since it was being so stubborn.

Good news though. Can you imagine the cost if you had someone else do the job? An 500-1K I would bet.

good pics. Be sure to create a good seal leading into the pan before cleaning the block off.

Cut the rubber seal off and use the tabs from the timing cover kit. Make sure you use RTV in the corners and the yellow "hi-tack" for the cork tabs. I would use "Great Stuff" for RTV. I've never had that stuff leak on me.

How many miles are on the motor?

You may want to use anti-seize on the shaft of the bolt where it goes through the timing cover to prevent any issues in the future.
