Hang in there. You are going about it much like I would. Here is something your could try.

What about drilling thru the side of that piece. Then put a big nail or something thru the new hole.

then grab that nail and give a yank.

The only pan bolts you need to remove are the front ones that go into the timing cover.

Been awhile but maybe an 1/8 to 1/4 of wiggle room would be enough. I have not had one of these out but just be aware of any pins that maybe there.

Don't think so on this motor though..That was more of a gm thing.

I think that you could loosen up the motor mounts and give it a raise just a little. Especially since there is no fan to interfer.

Without looking underneath the question is what do you or where do you jack it up?

Me thinks crankshaft. Big block of wood. raise it up to the shaft and then with a bottle jack give it a couple and see what that does.

Just throwing that out there.

Unless you have a cherry picker.
