94 F250 XLT 4X4 7.3L Turbo Diesel. 5 speed Stick.<O</O
Having brake issues.<O</O

Vacuum pump was bad, replaced it.<O</O
Fluid was bad so replaced Master cylinder, Rear wheel cylinders, Front caliper seals and Boots. Clean system.<O</O

Peddle is not holding. Peddle bleeds down, pump it up gets great peddle, but then when it sits for a few minutes I have to pump it back up. <O</O
Peddle feels better when engine is off than when on.
¾” free play in peddle.
Where do I look now or do now.

Just how does a proportioning valve work?<O</O
And what are the symptoms of a bad one?

Sounds like there is air in the system. Try bleeding the brakes in this order, right rear, left rear, RABS module (bolted to inside of left frame rail about level with drivers feet), right front, left front.
