1996 300 to 460 2wd Swap/Resto
Progress So Far:
-Replaced entire front end except for steering box.
-Removed Cab/Box.
-Cut all brackets/hangers from frame.
-Removed 300 motor/transmission/rear end.
Right Now:
-Did a rough sanding on frame, now sandblasting.
-Refinishing frame with rustoleam self etching primer(spray can) then brushing on rusoleam oil based paint(gloss black)
-460 block has been dropped off at machine shop and is being cleaned/tested.
-Heads are D3VE..Not sure yet if I will replace with alum.
-Found weiand stealth intake for 100bucks from a buddy.
-Looking for good rear end/transmission combo.
I am looking for about 475hp from this 460, she will have polished crank, line honed, bored, new rods, pistons, not sure about heads yet, 750 cfm holley, full msd ignition. The truck had a 5 speed (m305 r2) i think, and i would like to keep it manual. Anyone have any advice/opinion on transmission/rear end combos that bolt up easily?
