Chrome shop?

I'm from Grand Rapids, I'm looking for a metal shop that does chroming. I don't mind driving to find one.

Has anybody ever gone to get a part chromed? The reason I ask is because my bumper needs to be, it is looking like crap. I wonder if it is cheaper to restore the one I have, or purchase a "new" one. I don't know anything about the services these plating companies offer. Please let me know! I appreciate it.

Also, on a related note. How much would one expect a body shop to charge for sandblasting?

It really all depends on if the shop is local to you or not. There was a shop in detroit that I took a piece to (7yrs ago unknown if still in business, probably not the way its been going) They were expensive, but the piece was in bad shape. I did the filling and sanding and then they did the chroming. They were out of my price range to do all of it. It's really hit or miss.

I would say the sand blasting shouldn't be that much. Again depending on size of the piece.
