well it didnt have the classic devices that a 4X4 would have, i didnt even notice a push button for 4x4, alaska isnt all just ice like some people may think, there are normal roads out there where 2wd cars can travel... but like i said I didnt see a push button nor the manual shift for the 4x4 and no indication of locking hubs manual or auto...plus the axle looked to be a long single piece not a double like my truck (4x4) has, one up front or rear, with the Tcase....
well either way the guy drove it wrong...that annoyed me and even pissed me off, I mean i was like WTF dont they know how to drive off road, you dont try to go over big rocks unless you use the wheel to do that, NOT your axles.....yeesh....
Seeing he was on gravel... pulling a train engine (while its on tracks) is not a feat. The comapny duramax pulled a fully loaded peat with a 45 foot chip van on pavement in 4wd for 6 miles. that is over 103K LBs. Bosses Danilli <-- SP pulled same truck empty tare is 39K I think. Thats a full time awd half ton... My f250 would not move it. It was hooked first to get the rig out of an intersection...
You need to check out your F250 then, my I used old Eddie Bauer Bronc (1990, stock 5.8, E4OD) to pull out of fuel trucks several times.

The 351 in it is a lame dog at 113K miles. Motor spooled up truck didnt roll. Just made the chain tight... If I put it in low I would have pulled it. Im not that stupid, Let the boss use his 6 liter... and the 250 has pulled the fuel trucks out of the landing but we dont let them get into mud. Just stuck in sand/loose gravel, with them assisting also. Big rig was dead, no nothing... not just stuck. Used the compressor to fill its tanks all the way and pulled it back to the shop with the chebby's.
i did, i got the manual 4x4 tcase, a drive shaft thing going front and one rear as far as i can tell, long in the rear....
That was at me jamie not being able to pull a empty tractor trailer with my F 250. I dont know of any F250 that will pull it loaded. But that 2500HD did it with the dura max but now we are not talking our era truck. 6.0 powerstroke could most likely pull it too. May need a egr and injector when its done though ..
Sorry but I hate the 6.0L Fords and yes I had to pay for one to earn the right to say that. Happily sold a 05 F 350 with 42K miles and have not missed it a day since.. pure POS... My 95 351 F250 is a much better truck.
^^^ this. Yah it ****'d me of to. Take a 70's highboy w/3 driveshafts and off road it??? C'mon... really?
I had a 75 f250 highboy with three drive shafts and a 390 and I used to beat the everloving crap out of it in the woods and never had a problem with it. That truck was bad to the bone!
-_- *double facepalm* oh god they discrased the blue oval........oh and the train+coal car towing idea goood way to show the blue oval can do it but BAD IDEA NOT SMART its stupid......GEEEEZ I cant believe that they did that with one of our type of trucks.......
oh none of the tests are accurate as they didnt have all three trucks do the tests, they did telephone poles for the Chubby, train for the Ford and a house for the Ram....OI if they are gonna do these tests do it right people...least the Ford pulled the train...
