I'm not into 4x4ing as much as when I was in high school. Not that I was ever really big into it. I now do SCCA Solo II events. driving in parking lots around traffic cones. I would like to take the Ranger on a few non-muddy trails every now and than but that's the extent of it now.
I'm shooting for Class VI roads and a little mud (maybe more when I was younger) or something to take out hunting. Don't plan on going much bigger than 35s, the extreme stuff doesn't appeal to me that much. I refuse to beat on my daily driver though, been a part of too many 3AM wrench sessions so my buddies could get to work on Mondays...hmmm, they all drove Jeeps....
Productive he say? I have found out the hard way that PSNH does NOT believe in preventative maintenance...I had the "honor" of installing a new impeller and a tune up on their Ariens snowblower today... not fun at all..shear bolts wouldn't budge, even with my handy dandy 5/16 air hammer punch, even heat, ended up drilling out the shear bolts, and then much to my chagrin, the augers were frozen on the shafts, ie: cut notch, split auger, beat into submission, lube, weld up notch, repeat..blown impeller bearing, non existent drive disc, main and pilot circuits in carb were plugged, then the damn pressure plate for the drive was frozen. And I thought their trucks were bad! And they expect this to get done under 500 bucks, IDFTS! I hate snowblower season, especially the end and beginning...everyone brings their crap in, and I do mean CRAP. Crap, mind you, is not conducive to success when combined with flat rate pay...
