Looking for opinions of which is the better valve body?

 

From what I've read on here they are pretty similar. I have JWVB & it makes shifts nice & firm but not neck snappers! Good Luck

 

Depends... when your tranny needs to be replaced, are you gonna put in a BTS or a JW? I know that John credits the valve body price back to you if you order his trans, not sure if BTS does the same... just food for thought.

BTW, did you get the pyro gauge?

 

I got a BTS-VB a few years ago, then when I got my trans built by BTS last year, they gave me full credit for the VB.

Both are really good. The one big selling point for me to get the JWVB was that Riffraff Diesel only charges a $50 core charge. A lot easier to float $50 than what some other places want. Riffraff Diesel: John Wood 4R100 Valve Body

 

My only issue with BTS is there crazy core charge! $230 I may have to go with the JW only because there core is only $50 It's hard enough coming up with the cash for the vb butt a core as much as the product is crazy! I guess a lot of people are not returning the core? The BTS would be my first choice, butt there core price may be pushing this customer away!

 

Both are great... that said, when it comes tranny time for me, I'm probably getting the JW tranny.

I'm gonna get the JW VB from Clay in the meantime....funds permitting.

 

If you have a chip by dp, you'll probably need a re burn if you go with the bts. At least that's what I've read on the forum. I've got a complete bts tranny and do find the shifting, well, not perfect but, Brian said it was tuning!

 

I bought the JWVB because of the low core cost from Clay. But going to BTS next week for a full trans.
The JWVB did sharpen up the shifts. quick and crisp, but not too hard.

 

Maybe Brian will pull out your JW VB and then you could pass it on to Crewcab for a monetary exchange

 

I would ask if u want to sell your JW valve body butt I'm sure your gona need it for a core when u get your new trans.

 

Your two weeks too late. If I hadn't already promised it to another FTE brother, it would have been yours.
I have a stock VB in my toolbox to give to Brian for a core.

Transgo or jwvb?

 

Same here although the VB was sitting in black crud and not red fluid that was burned when the diode locked up. I was given full credit, sight unseen
