Yeah i agree. There is absolutely no way i will get under or work on a car or truck held up by JUST a jack. That's just asking to get hurt

I already know that, what you don't see in the picture, is the 30 pound block of concrete, that my cousin removed from under the truck, & decided to use as a basketball to the windshield, & driver side window. It was under the axle, along with the jack so that if the truck did fall it would be on the block, & not on something else, so I do know how to use safety when being under a vehicle. I don't however have the ability to foresee what things will happen, when you leave the premises, of a truck in process of being worked on, & come back after a family member, decides to take their rage out on your unattended work in progress, because of something their step-dad did.

I meant to put the post about a windshield as a reply to this, sorry about that I'm a bit defunct today lol, but I found a windshield on Craigslist for a 90 Bronco 4x4, I was curious if that would work for my 93 XLT? I would need to find out before I head out to Osawatomie (50 mile drive) just to disappointed, that it won't fit with my truck, if you know what I mean.

Well I'm not going to get a windshield or window for now, I went over yesterday and taped trash bags to the drivers side door/window area, there's a Auto Zone just around the corner, I bought a 4 Ton Bottle Jack for 28$, & I used the round 1 n half foot tall concrete block for extra safety measures. I went down to the bone yard we KC'ers know as "Little Roberts", & I bought a newish looking battery, it's stats are "Everstart Maxx" 850amp Cold Crank, 1000amp Cold Crank for 20 degrees below 0 for 50$, both the guys I talked to at Napa and Auto Zone, told me for my truck it would need at least 680-750amps of a cold crank in order to start. So I took that battery back to the truck, bought new terminal clamps at Walmart for 8$ a pair because the ones on the truck were corroded and dinged up, took every tool I had known to man over in my mom's car, ended up working on it myself since my buddy Kevin never called or showed up, out in 110 degree 90% Humid Missouri weather from 9:30am to 8pm.

I also bought a 5 gallon gas can for 12$, some STP injection cleaner/treatment 2$, went back in forth around to the QT and bought 4 1/2 gallons of gas 2 times, filled both tanks because they were almost empty. I then proceeded to on, and to let the gas sit in the tanks, then I fixed the battery cable/terminal clamps, put the battery in it and it has 3/4 charge to it, messed around a little bit to take a better look at the axle/spring/shock/suspension & brake area, to see what all needed to be replaced, so far all I can see is the brake pads and rotor need to be replaced. So then I tried starting the truck, all the bells, and whistles work that's for sure lol, but it makes a knock noise 1 time everytime I try to start it, I asked my grandpa who used to sell, & build GM cars, (Yes I know I'm the Blue Oval loving black sheep of my family lol), I asked him what he thought it was, & he said it's more than likely the starter or a locked up engine, so do you guys think it's the starter or is the block locked up?

Try charging the battery fully first. If it still just clicks, put a socket and breaker bar on the harmonic balancer bolt and try to turn the engine over by hand. If you're able to rotate it, the engine isn't locked up.

Well I was able to turn the balance bolt 5-6 times with no issues, I heard the pistons moving inside the engine, so it's not locked up that's for sure. I had Auto Zone fully charge the battery, brought it back still wouldn't start, so I managed to get the old starter off. Though I didn't have a 14mm deep set socket, to get the new one on, I wore myself out taking the old one off with a pair of vice grips. When I get more money next week, I'll go back with a 14mm deep set socket, & put the new starter on and see if it starts.

Not a problem man....Whats your name btw?

Also, might I suggest taking a notepad an pen....And making a list of what the truck needs, and what priority they have...Just so you don't forget something....

Then....Since your engine will turn, check for spark, and for fuel....
