Changing to 2011 Leaf Springs on my 2005
#16
Great write up and pics!
One thing I noticed, your truck is a 1 ton but you have the 3/4 ton springs installed, correct? The only thing you're missing out on the 2011 1 ton setup is the overload springs on top of the spring stack (in case you're ever in search of some).

Also, I'll be adding a helper bag setup, because I didn't want overload springs anyway.

Alot of people think that is the case but its not true. You can buy a F250 that has overloads on it, and you can also buy a F350 that does not have overloads. I know when I bought my truck new, the only difference suspension wise between a F250 and a F350 is the F250 had 2" rear blocks and the F350 had a 4" rear block. Same exact springs (part numbers) were available on either model. There really isn't much a difference between F250 or F350. My truck and my buddy's 06 F250 had the exact identical springs (same part #, w/overloads).

By the way, I have a brand new (in box) set of Firestone air bags for the '11 F350 (gas though). Not sure if they'll work for your setup but I'll offload them at a discounted price (too late for me to return them) if you're interested. My 5er plans got put on hold so I don't need them anymore.

I had the first set Trevor ever made. So once he got them to me and I installed them on the truck, there were a few adjustments that needed to be made. So he made the changes and shipped me another set. They have been sitting in the garage waiting to go in. I haven't been to motivated to put them in because there weren't any changes that made the hangers where they HAD to be changed out. After hearing about how much people were liking the 2011 leaf springs, I picked up a set. So I changed the hangers out while I was swapping the springs.

I found a set of 2011 springs but the guy reused his ubolts, retainer plates, etc. Is there any reason i cant use the top and bottom retainer plates and ubolts from my 08 setup and just swap the leaf springs? I know in '11 they changed the setup so the ubolts point down but the springs look like they will swap out the same.

Have been reading over this thread and am very interested in converting my 06 f350 drw to a set of 2011+ F350 drw springs. I tow, but not a lot of weight (24ft car hauler).. Sometimes I have stuff in the bed, but nothing by comparison to what some of these guys do.. More often then not the truck is empty. But i love driving it and I love being higher up, would love a more comfortable ride.
Any update on how the ride comfort is? Is it noticeably better than the 2010 springs you had on there before?
