i have known of two that have experienced egr cooler failure around 100k on stock trucks not useing fuel additives.

My thoughts are this needs to be done maybe the oil cooler moved if you tow alot. Studs, not sure if they are even necessary on stock trucks. Their are a bizillion 6.0 IntH engines out there working hard and i have not heard of head problems with them have you

Monitor EOT & ECT and you'll know. Then you can decide if you want to replace or delete. 100k on mine with no issues yet. When it's time I'm not deleting, just replacing.

Thanks for the input.

i suspect the big culprit in much of the 6.0 problem besides after market tuners is the egr cooler. I think i'm gonna do an egr delete here very soon.
Thanks

I'm not convinced an EGR delete is the end all be all fix. Granted I don't know anywhere near what other guys here know but if it were me I wouldn't worry about it until the EOT/ECT delta gets up there and even at that point I would probably use a bulletproof EGR cooler versus deleting the whole system.

the biggest culprit is the ford gold coolant flushing out your system with restore an restore plus to get the ford gold crap completly out an swap it out with cat coolant can save ur oil cooler an your egr cooler
