Regen = 2 holes or all 8 ?

I was just curiously trying to find out if regen is with all 8 cylinders, or the back 2, and keep finding conflicting information.

Anyone have a rock solid proven source ?

No solid evidence/proof but Ive only ever heard it was the back 2...

All 8 on the 6.4 and don't quote me but on the 6.7 just 4 and on one bank for that motor.
