65 Spring Special Econoline Truck

We just acquired a 65 Econoline truck with the Special Packages.
Poppy Red color. Spring Special pkg.
Looking for a tail gate for ours is rusted through.
The tailgate can be any color because we will be repainting the truck.
I understand they are difficult to come by. But if anyone has one they are willing to part with we would be interested.
you can email me @ jolynhann@gmail.com
or call me (714) 724-2390

Tailgate

The tailgates are super rare ... even a nasty one fetches 300 USD .. a nice one double that ... they pop up on E Bay every now and then ... a fellow named Tim at econousaparts might just have what you are looking for ... google the name ... tell him I sent you

If he can't help let me know. He collects Econo Vin numbers ... if you are interested in knowing some pretty interesting stuff about your Spring Special ... send him all the drivers door tag information as well

There are two different Econoline pickup tailgates, one is higher than the other.

C2UZ-8720702-A .. Tailgate - 50 3/4" x 23 1/2"

C2UZ-8740702A .. Tailgate - 50 3/4" x 19 1/2"

There is a recent thread in this forum titled: Econoline Tailgate? where someone found a Econoline tailgate under a house.

Don't recall what size it was, but was in 'minty' condition. The price "was right."

btw: For those unaware, the last 6 digits of the 11 digit VIN is the vehicles specific serial number. The serial numbers used from 1961 thru 1980 apply to ALL series' of trucks, Econolines and 1966/80 Bronco's.
