Clutch slave cylinder question...
Well here we go again, looks like I have to replace the clutch slave cylinder in my 96 F150 again... (long sigh)...yay! I have gone through three of these in the past three years, all Napa aftermarket replacements. The first one (not sure of the brand) lasted about about six months and started leaking. The second one (same brand as the first) lasted around five months, then it started leaking too. All were replaced under warranty, but after the last one I told the owner of the local Napa I need something better than these crap ones that only go for a few months and then leak. The last one he gave me was a Raybestos, this one held up the best but still only lasted a couple years... approximately 30k miles. At this point I'm about to go to the stealership and buy a factory Ford unit, they seem to last. What would you guys do? I am really getting tired of having to drop the transmission out of my truck every couple months or years to change these stupid things. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!
