E8: E = Medium Red & Dark Red Vinyl (F600) / 8 = 81B Custom Cab.

Fordman96 is gaining momentum as a positive member of FTE.Fordman96 is gaining momentum as a positive member of FTE.
I recently got a rear axle from what I think is a 94' F250 (junkyard was just trying to off the part on me than help me actually get to know info about it.)

I found the tag on the axle and it reads:
SS124G
55 10 2 4G29

The best I could find through Google was that it was made July 29, 1994. 10.25 with 3.55 gears. Right?

Welcome to FTE

F74 = F700.

U = 272 4V Heavy Duty.

7 = 1957.

U = Louisville KY Assembly Plant.

30226 = 1957 Numerical Sequence of Assembly, the trucks specific serial number.

156" Wheelbase.

R = Vermillion Red.

29E = Assembled May 29, 1957.

H = Clark model 250V 5 Speed Direct or New Process model 540 5 Speed Direct.

13 = All this decodes to is the axle ratio: 7.17-1 / Rear axle application chart for 1957 F700 says Timken model F106.

22,000 lbs. Gross Vehicle Weight Rating.

149 net HP @ 3,600 RPM

730435: 73 = SLC UT Ford District Sales Office, where the original selling dealer ordered the truck from.

0435 = Domestic Special Order number, truck ordered special by original purchaser, not "bought off the lot."

While there's no way to know today, because FoMoCo THREW AWAY all the records for these trucks, I suspect that after it left the assembly line, was shipped to an outside company to be converted to 4WD.

Marmon-Herrington, of Indianapolis IN was the most popular for doing 4WD conversions.

Both the fenders and doors have been obsolete for over 40 years. No Ford dealer or obsolete parts vendor has any.

There's a long time truck dismantlers yard here in LA LA Land that has a pair of new "big truck" fenders. I think they're for F700/1100's, but are badly surface rusted.

COTB-16005-C Right & COTB-16006-C Left .. Front Fenders / Obsolete

Hi Bill we've spoken before.

I'm trying to find the Ford P/N for the Air Cleaner Temperature Sensor for a '76 E-150 351W C-6 (California sold). The one I have is paint marked blue-red-blue and was made for Echliin. But I'm not convinced this is the correct version -- I'm finding too many crosses to other makes.

Regards,
Tom

Greetings ND!

I have a 1986 F-250. Here's the VIN: 1FTHX25L9GKA21XXX.

I hear that you have an extensive microfische collection. I am wondering if my truck came with a rubber flap beneath the radiator. I am told that some Ford trucks had a Flap, or deflector that prevented low pressure from building up behind the radiator thus disturbing the airflow through the radiator. I have been told that if I am missing this piece, that my truck will run hot at road speeds. So, I'm wondering if mine is missing, or never had one.

My truck also has a "load supporting valve", in the rear brake system. Where would I find an adjustment procedure for this valve?

Thank You in advance for any information that you can provide.

R, Steve

97 Expedition

The fuse to my brake lights keeps blowing, I disconnected a plug next to the brake fluid reservoir and it stopped blowing the fuse. What is that plug for and why is it blowing the brake fuse?

D0ZZ-9E607-B = E/F100/350 applications at right upper, Passenger Car/Bronco applications at left lower.

If you need parts, obsolete or not, I can look up the numbers, then search for them on two online websites to see if anyone has them. Then will post the part numbers, sources that have them.

If the parts are still available, I will list the MSRP and the FTE member discount price offered by sponsor PARTSGUYED.COM (Ed Olson, parts manager of Horizon Ford in Seattle WA).

I've been doing this jazz on FTE since 11/04/2006. And, btw: One of the parts locator sites is only accessible to FoMoCo Dealers.
Kind of a random request but do you have any idea what kind of stereo would fit in a 1983 Ford C8000?
