Is there any truth to the statement below? If so, WOW, what a dissapointment given the new powetrain options in the F-Series.

Features of 2012 Ford Expedition

The first updated feature to mention is the powertrain. The base model Expedition sports a new, smaller 4.8 Litre V8 motor, while the upper trim models still have the 5.4 Litre V8 with more power, but lacks the gas mileage.

That would be a disappointment. I am considering updating my expy, but wanted to see if the new motors would be offered. Also, what does Ford have a 4.8 in, i don't think i have heard of this motor. I honestly do not see how they can put less horses in an expy. My 5.4 does okay, but i would not mind a little more. Looks like this one will be holding on a little longer - or maybe back to a truck. Thanks, mike.

The 2012 Order Bank was announced today, HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT for me that will prevent me from buying one.

I had been holding out for a '12 in hopes the Expedition would follow suit with the F150 power plants (5.0 and EcoBoost). Nope, same old 5.4 with 310/365. I just don't get it..

Damnit, mine will certainly last, but I was getting the itch. Might have to look at another f150 or possibly the flex or just give the bank account some breathing room. Definitely disappointed, but still really happy with my ride anyway, Mike.

I just took a 2011 for a test ride. It was a nice ride. I am looking at updating from my 2000. Is there anything new coming in on the 2012 that is not on the 2011?

Nothing significant for 2012. Same powertrain....
