460 efi intake

someone told me about a modification to the air intake tubes on a 460 efi but he wasn't sure about it . Wondering if anyone had an idea? Thanks

They probably mean about the air "horn" mod in the intake tube. Look about 3 inches up the pipe from the throttle body and you will see 2 plastic horns (have to remove the tubes to see). They are a restriction in the air flow. I have heard varying results on doing this mod, but if you want to cut them off go for it. Some say it works, others say they experience a loss in low end torque. Ford put them there for a reason though...
