96 F150 with Raptor Interior
#18
Hey I just took a look at that guys other videos. Did you know he has a 5.4 from a 06 in his truck? You may be able to get the interior physically into your truck without many issues but the electronics are going to be completely intergraded with the drivetrain. All of the gauges and such run together with the late model ECU. Are you planning on trying to adapt your engine controls or make a swap to something else?

I'm also getting the under hood harness and the Raptor ECU. So my plan is to strip my 96 harness of everything except the stuff needed to run the 96 engine, run the sensors I need for the IP to the Raptor ECU and then have someone I know shut off all the diagnostics on the Raptor ECU. Then later on when I get a little extra money i will pick up a 6.2L engine and transmission that will just plug right into the Raptor ECU already installed in my truck and remove whats left of the stock 96 stuff.

if you get this to work man, im gonna send my ecu to "your Guy" and have him do whatever to it too, I want to do a similar swap, well the exact same swap in my 72 F250, but had a guy post saying that you need to incorporate the rear end and the abs so the compuuter doesnt back down the rpms etc... but if you pull this off you gotta share it, i dont have access to as much of the swap stuff as you do so your already ahead of me. I want to integrate all the electronics except for the guage cluster and all the interior except for the headliner, steering column, and dash. Im incorporating the center console out of the platinum edition trucks, with console shifter too....
Def keep posted man, extremely interested

hey now, don't be hatin on spanish music/culture and its people....anyways to keep on topic, I wish I could do somethin like that but our cabs for our trucks are a bit on the cramped side really and that just looks like it will take up too much room, especially for those of us who have manual shifters or even 4X4 shifters that are the manual types...

I agree Texas guy...even tho it looks good (kinda) its too cramped in an already cramped cab and honestly the colors are.......well....scuse me....I....
now if you have an extended cab or better a crew/super cab I could kinda (barely) see this working and getting pulled off properly...yea I wouldn't mind this type of interior but honestly, it sounds like more headache then its worth, and color options seem lacking honestly...

Geez people, if you don't want it in your truck, don't do it. You don't have to go mucking the OP's thread up.
Anyway, here's a couple of observations on the project.
I measured an OBS for 2011 Super Duty seats yesterday. The SD seats are very different. They sit much higher in the cab (from the floor). They also require a lower transmission tunnel than my manual has (not sure if this affects you or not). However, the seats are the same outside width at least. I decided to scrap the project since the seat tracks would require very extensive modifications to make the seats sit at the correct height/place in the cab.
I don't have measurements on an F150, but I think (emphasis on think) the seats are the same.
I'm really curious to see this pulled off. I'd love to have an older truck with a modern interior (despite my fiancee's objections). I'm not sure I'd want to full dash, but it'll be interesting to see the result.

as far as seat measurements, it really depends, BUT I believe they (seats) with wise will total up to the same with, but the F150 (assuming single cab here) will be a bench at least 24" wide (2') Ill head out to my truck here shortly and remeasure the bench, which im guessing you are wanting the measurements for the bench its self, at the widest points possible to allow the possibility to take into account for obstructions like door panles and what not? or are you looking for the track its self? IE spaceing where the track bolts to the floor, or the track with its self that the bench rests on? ill get some figures if needed as I have a F150 XLT sincle cab, but for the most part the bucket seats of any truck (bench and/or buckets with center console) should generally total out to a 24" with interior (IIRC) since I can lay my self down and almost lay on the bench...
