Hi, I've got a 3.8 Mustang. As many of you know the 4.2 is nothing more than a stroked 3.8. I'm trying to find a 4.2L cam to swap into my car. V6 mustang people that have done this gain about 20rwtq and 10rwhp due to slightly more intake duration. Anyway, do you guys know where I can get my hands on one?

If I see a 6 cylander mustang near my truck I will shoot. j/j anyways, try a junkyard, I am to understand that the 97 eng had problemms...you might be able to find a blown motor with a good cam in a junkyard..

you know what kind of problems the 97's have? a blown motor may **** up the cam. but then again it may not. hmmmmmmm. I may try the junk yard...

 

I believe people are saying it was bad headgaskets, engine loses all the oil (or most) and BLOAW!, might mess up cam, might not just depends per specific motor.
