distributor cap 49 ford

Anyone out there have any problems getting the right cap for your flathead? I bought a new cap and rotor at o'reillys and when i installed them as sood as i started it the rotor snapped in half, so i put the old rotor on and it snapped that one too. I took the cap and broken rotor back to o'reillys they gave me a new rotor and wanted to give me the same cap because thats what it calls for. I told them to keep the cap because it must be the wrong size. Anyone have any thoughts on what cap to get and where? They are really not that much help any info would help. by the way the flathead is in a 49 ford f3 if it matters.

NAPA shows it too

https://www.napaonline.com/Catalog/C...+50028+2028079

Beware, they have two they carry, one with aluminum contacts or this one with brass. Brass is better. The NAPA p/n is Echlin FA78 if the link doesn't work

Is the part OReilly's gave you a BWD p/n C147? That's what their e-catalog shows as fitting.
