I have a 1987 F-250, Auto-trany Straight 6 4.9l truck and im having a problem with the injecters not noiding properly.
I thought it was the pick-up coil so we replaced the distributor but it did nothing... tested the ignition module which was good.
It has a new fuel pump, and it has good fuel at the rail. the truck will start with some either but the injectors wont pump fuel....
I think it might be either a bad wire or the ECM...
Please Help.... any comments will help....
Check the small black wire with a green stripe ground wire coming off the NEG (-) post of the battery.
Sounds like the the computer does not have a good ground.
HEY ALL THE GROUNDS CHECKED GOOD. COULD THERE BE A PROBLEM WITH THE RELAYS OR WIRES ON THE SOLENIOD... i JUST PUT A NEW INGITION CONTROL MODULE ON IT... THIS TRUCK HAS ME STUMPTED
Make sure all of the fuse links coming off the battery side of the starter solenoid are good.
To check them try to stretch them and if thy stretch they are bad.
Well if the computer is not grounding the injectors very well (not noiding properly) you need to unplug the computer and make sure you are getting full battery voltage on the three power pins (1, 37 & 57) and a good ground on the ground pins (40 & 60).
If if they are OK check the wires from the computer plug to the injectors and look for any pushed out pins.
If everything looks good I guess I would try another computer for a test.
HEY DOES THE ECM NUMBERS ON THE FIRST 4 AND LAST 2 NUMBERS HAVE TO MATCH OR WILL ANOTHER COMPUTER WORK... I KNOW THEY HAVE TO MATCH BUT WILL ANOTHER COMPUTER START IT
do you have a relay wiring diagram by any chance... for the fuel relays and eec relays with pin positions and wire colors... im not sure if the harness is plugged in correctly
