Thumbs down Just me complaining about my junky 7.3

So 30k on motor and tranny, 500 miles on new turbo and 3 inch dp. THINGS ARE ACTINGIN UP ALREADY.. never leaked oil until now, i cant find were its coming from not turbo or ebpv cause i deleted that. not pedestal or pan bolt. I had about 3000 pounds TRAILER INCLUDED and i went to go from red light wouldnt shift till about 3500 rpm, then would shift at about 1200 from second to third. get on the highway wont downshift when going up a hill at about 1500 rpm, which leads me to a stall.... my dad said he will trade me striaght up for his 79 f-350 which is my dream truck then give me 1k for mine... i want to keep it cause then i can pull anything but if i cant get this to start going my way i want to say farewell to you guys and thanks for all the help.

Sucks to own a vehicle huh?

Happens to everyone, either figure out the problem and fix it or get rid of it and have problems with the next vehicle you own......

It seam to be that way with my truck. Did rear wheel seals less then 6 mounth ago and now I found one leaking again. Rebuilt the fuel bowl to find my leak was in the fuel pump. And today I lose my brakes some what. Trailer almost pushed the truck threw the red light! Pull the rear drums, Wheel seal leaking and other one was missing the total bad off one shoe.

I love my diesel and truck. I keep fixxing it and love it. When I blow by a F150 on a 2 lane road(yellow dotted line) with the landscaping trailer.

Transmission shifting issue sounds more like a sensor or transmission itself.

Just because O rings are new doesn't mean they can't leak or have some bolts loosen up.

But if you are at all familiar with Fords, you know they are designed to leak, when they stop you know its time to add fluid.

I have no idea if this is remotely possible..but nobody mentioned the VSS...I dont know entirely what the VSS causes when it gets dirty/broken, but Ive read some threads about it causing shifting stuff.
^_^
Mainly posted so I get updates to read n learn

Wow, thinking about selling it just b/c of an oil leak and some weird shifting.. If I did that I woulda gone through several trucks already. lol

3 alternators, A/C compressor, 2 vacuum pumps, fuel pump, whole fuel system, HPOP, 3 HPOP gaskets, 7 HPO fitting o-rings, leaking intake plenums, leaking oil pan o-ring, clutch, injector poppet valves, ball joints, tie rods, radius arm bushings, 3 output shaft seals, and 13 slave cylinders..

Don't give up on it yet man. These problems shouldn't be too hard to fix. You say you can't find where the leak is coming from... Where is the oil? In the valley? Not in the valley, but hitting the ground? If you clean it up and start the engine, look around where the oil was and try to find it. If it's in the valley look at all the HPO fittings, look at the HPOP gasket area all around it with a mirror. It doesn't take long to find a leak in the valley if you just look for it.

The transmission problems can be sensor related. Try the VSS. It's a cheap part to try. I'm no auto transmission guy so I really don't know much farther than that.

x2!!! I was wondering if I was anywhere close with my VSS comment for the shifting since nobody rebutted it but nobody agreed.
