They were E rated.

The Toyo's really impressed me over the weekend. I ran in about 8-10" of snow/ice, and they just chew their way right through it. I even pulled a Chebbie HD through a 4' deep ditch, that another Chebbie HD couldn't move!
Probably the best part of my truck though....The Rancho 7000MT's. The truck never lost it's composure, even on Pennsylvania's spring time road's. This was important, as I think we got 6" of snow in 4hrs, and the road through Quehanna is terrible...add the snow and ice on top of a really bad road. The Toyo's were well planted/surefooted driving waaaaayyyyy faster than I should have been. The tire's will do even better once I lower the air pressure some. (Newly mounted, and they have about 75lbs in them now.)

I know, I am a believer! I can't belive how crappy the stock shock's were. (of course thrre of them collapsed, and never rebounded, and moved an inch or 2 before anything else happened.)

Tire Query

Could someone help please.

I would like to fit Toyo Open Country Mud Terrains 315 x 70 x 18 on my 2008 350 4x4 PSD supercab using the stock 18" x 8" wheels. I don't want to lift the truck or change wheels. Don't mind some rubbing at full lock, however, a check under the truck at full lock indicates they might just catch the plastic wheel arch, but I could trim that.

I'm in the UK and a local dealer wants about $600 just to ship them. A buddy has offered to bring them over in his shipping container FOC so I must buy the correct tires. Has anyone any experience of fitting this size of tire and have you had any problems?

Thanks,

John in the UK

PS - I'm restricted to metric sizes with my 8" rims.

Is that a right-hand-drive Super Duty?? If so, that's really awesome! Except that, having driven all over the UK, I'm not sure I'd ever want to do battle with even some of the A roads in a big truck like ours. At least you're not tall like a delivery van! I'm sure all the others pulling a caravan on the motorway are jealous of how nicely and easily you can tow with that versus their Mondeo or whatever.

The 08 and up truck's have a little bigger fender opening than the 05-07's, but the tire you are looking at is almost 36" tall, and right around 13" wide. On top of that, it will be a hair taller, because you are installing them on an 8" wide wheel. My 285 75-18 MT's still touch the mud flap's at full lock with a 2.5" leveling kit. (My truck is an 06) I would guess (This is not a fact because of the 08+ truck's having bigger wheel well's) You would atleast need a leveling kit.

Firekite : No - LHD. We have travelled the length & breadth of the UK towing the trailer without any problems - other drivers tend to move over for us on narrow roads.

2006lariat : Thanks for your response. Had forgotten that squeezing that size tire on an 8" rim would increase the diameter slightly. I think I will drop a size to 285s, unless someone has fitted 315s with no lift and no problems. There is a post somewhere on FTE showing 35x12.5x18 BF Goodrich MT's on an 08 super duty with no lift and no rubbing, but I can't find it now!

acf6 : Thanks for that.

You can fit them depending on what spring code you have in the front factory, but your truck looks a little lower in the front so I don't think they'd fit well

I wasn't aware of any Super Duty pickups being made in RHD, so I was definitely curious. One of these days I'd like to drive a LHD vehicle in the UK, see how weird it is driving a "normal" vehicle on the "wrong" side of the road.

These Tire's Rock! Drove right around 3 other truck's that were stuck in mud, A Super Duty, With Eldorado MT's, A Chevy DMax with Wild Country MT's, and a Tundra with BFG's, and I didn't spin. Was super impressed, as I was sinking, but it just went. My Dura Trac's, would have left me sitting. The two with No Issue's was My Toyo's, and a Chevy Half Ton with STT's.
We were all loaded with Fire Wood, So sinking was high on our worry list.

So on a stock 06, based on what I've read, it appears that I could fit 35 X 12.5 X 17 with at the most, none to very little rub. Do you guys concur? I will also be putting these on stock rims.

I rub my mud flap's in the front, turning with a leveling kit. My tires are (a true)35X11.5-18 on stock 18X8 wheels. Some 35" tires are only 34" tall, and the truck's with 20" wheel's, run 34" tires from the factory.
