No power / won't start

I have a 92 f-150 4.9 L 5 speed with 172,000 miles. For about two months now every now and then when i get it it the entire dash has no power or if my daughter stalls it it loses power. I have noticed if we leave it set for about 15 minutes it regains all power. The first time it happened I unkoked the negative cable from the battery and when I went to put it back on it sparked (something clicked) and the truck had power again. I have been told starter, the starter soliniod or clutch lock out switch. If anyone could help I would be grateful. Thanks.

Sounds like bad battery cables or a bad connection where the POS battery cable hooks to the starter relay on the fender.
Could also be bad connections between the battery posts and the battery cables.
