I posted this on the suspension forum, but that may not be the right place for this question.
I have a 1956 F-100 project that I am looking to put an inexpensive IFS in. I can get a 84 Dodge Diplomat for about $400. I have read that this is one of the "easier" swaps. Anyone done this? If so, any recommedations would be much appreciated.

Start with the tech section on the FTE homepage. John Niolon has a good article there. There is also a video available from No-Limit engineering I recommend. You might also search this forum for Volare. We would be glad to help you but it is a lengthy subject. Do you have specific questions? It is indeed one of the lower buck IFS solutions. $400 is a little much for a clip though. I would shop around.

I only paid $150 for my 87 5th Avenue donor car, but I have to pull the suspension myself. I think you should be able to find one for less than $400. I could have had the suspension delivered to me for $250, but this way I get the whole car. I plan to use the master cylinder and booster, hanging brake pedal, steering column, and other parts. Niolons article is great...

i too think that 400 for the ifs is too much. i bought mine for $100 and then ended up putting another $250 in to it to rebuild the bushings and shocks and stuff too make it ride better. i also bought the video form no limit and it is worth the money. keep on truckin and be paitent.
