So if I find a 6.4l that has an DPF delete shoud I think that the guy knows what he is doing or what? I heard that they put a twin-turbo system on this engine? Is that true?
the tearm twin implys a matched set of turbos. one for each bank. they dont have that set up. they have a set of sequential tubos. thats a very different set up. IMO I would skip the 6.4. but thats my opinion. lots of happy owners though.
At this point, I'm one of the happy owners. 62000 miles, only a few minor oil leaks, and now a fuel drain leak. Mileage is 11-13 in town, 13 on highway, 7-8 towing 17000lb fiver.
6.4L seems to be very sensitive to water in the fuel destroying the fuel pump and injectors to the tune of several thousand dollars. Drain the fuel/water separator regularly.
Yeah, well, now I have to replace the drain valve as it is leaking...
Mine did that last summer. Leaked out the drain valve and I couldn't get it to stop. It did NOT leak once the truck was running. Had it fixed under the 3/36. Paper work said they replaced the frame mounted FUEL PUMP which seemed strange.
