1999 5.4L expedition is overheating
My 1999 5.4L expedition just over heated.
The thermostat was recently recently changed
because after having the radiator flushed it
wasn't getting up to temp. After that was
replaced my temp gauge said the vehicle was
over heating but the engine was running at the
correct temp so we replaced the cylinder head
temperatue sensor yesterday. Today the vehicle
seemed to be running at the right temp until
this afternoon when it really overheated. The
only place we see any coolant coming from
is the resivor. The water pump is dry and the
hoses look ok. My boyfriend and his dad just added
3 gallons of water. Any suggestions.

Sounds like you had an air pocket after the T stat change out. Mods can be a bear to get the air out of.
Add The correct 50 50 mix and try to the air to burp out by bring it to temp and letting it cool a few cycles.
My 4.6 is starting to climb in traffic and it needs a flush bad. Similar issue.
