'87 - '96 5spd

I have a '95 Bronco 4x4 that came original with an automatic, but someone swapped in an NP435 4spd. They kept all the factory wiring under the truck, even the transmission lines. I've found a 5spd with transfer case that supposedly fits '87 - '96 f150/broncos to put in it. Is that 5spd the same throughout those years? And how different is the wiring on a '95 between a std trans and an auto? I'd like to wire the 5spd to my factory auto's harness so my speedo works and hopefully knock my check engine light off.

There are two different five spds, one for half tons I believe it is the M5R4, and the ZF series, if you can get the zf. It is much stronger, handles a lot more torque but is much harder to find

68shortbox is correct the zf5 is much stronger came behind 351's 300's and 302's that were 3/4 the NP435 should bolt to either one of the two trannys SHOULD if not i have a BW1345 ive been trying to un *** for awhile that still works your going to have to get a new computer or another one and the new wiring for that tranny fly wheel flex plate possibly drive shaft and is tyours mechanical clutch? if so all the hydralic clutch system it would be cheaper to put an autop back in it than it would to transfer everything to standard just my .02 but it would be easier to find a donor truck i hope this helps

I have a guy around the corner who is parting one out with the zf, if I didn't have the 7.3 I'd buy it for a spare just because around here people want an arm and a leg for those zfs

NP435 is the transmission, still has pushbutton 13-56. The 5spd i've found locally is a half-ton 5spd. Mine does have hydraulic clutch on it. As far as swapping computers, do you mean to get my speedo to work? It has the NP435 4spd in it now, with the factory harness for an auto, and it runs and drives great, aside from my check engine light being on. But the 4spd is tore up pretty bad, jumps out of first, and grinds everytime you shift, i took off the cover and it's a mess inside, needs a few new gears in it. But i'd like to have the 5spd in it for the OD primarily, not that i'll be spending alot of time in OD, tires are pretty big.

The speedometer should be electronically driven using the speed sensor on the rear axle. The transmission is irrelevant in this case - there's something else wrong that's causing the speedometer issue.

If the NP435 uses an external hydraulic slave cylinder, you will need a new hydraulic line to match the 5-speed since it uses an internal slave cylinder concentric with the input shaft of the transmission and has a different fitting. The clutch components should work with both transmissions as long as the spline count on the clutch disc is the same (I think it should be).
