Chasetruck754,
I gotta ask, whats the benefit of 2WD in the desert trucks?

u know that's a good ? I guess its the independent fron suspension or the 2wd having more control of the steering just a guess but that's a good point to bring up man

Im not a desert guy but the main reason they use 2wd's is because the terrain they run doesnt really require 4wd. That combined with less weight and the ability to get some serious suspension travel out of the 2wd's by bending or building different I beams and stuffing some tall springs under them make them ideal for smokin it across relatively flat, dry terrain at a high rate of speed................Looks like a hoot to me..............

I don't have many pics of that truck. Plus what I posted were pics I have but someone else hosted. I have TONS of pics of these things as desert trucks and people have been kind enough to host many of them. I don't have enough bandwidth to spare in my photobucket account to post up my dentside pics so I keep it to just my stuff...

Pretty much. Don't get me wrong - 4wd does come in handy, especially in the snady washes or silt beds, but it takes a lot more weight, work and $$ to get decent travel out of a 4wd. We usually replace 4wd with horsepower and speed. Plus the skill of the diver. Keep your speed up and you won't sink and get stuck
