Might be worth your investment to get the job done.

I have those same ones as well as this big one. Since I bought the set I haven't met their match.

My dad has one of those laying in his tool box. I always wondered what it was.

How do these get the bolt out? I can't see how it would fit on the bolt head.

It's a stud remover. If the head of the bolt fits in then that'd work too. The twisting of the knurled piece binds the stud and allows you to turn it, or break it off deeper...

Technically that's a stud remover/installer but like many things, the flexibility of the tool is directly proportional to the flexibility of the mind using it.

Did it have a gasket originally? I don't think Ford recommends exhaust manifold gaskets, because it doesn't transfer heat as well.

That's what I did too. The bolts came out of the head with just a pair of vise grips. The problem was they had rusted into the manifolds. But with the manifold on the bench you can either heat them and hit them with a punch or air hammer. If that doesn't work they might have to be drilled out.

I took mine to the local napa and had them resurface the manifold so hopefully it will bolt up flush and not leak with out a gasket.

Well the blue wrench is still down, and here is what my truck though about those bolt extractors. It laughed.

It might be the quality of the extractor. I have bought some cheap drill bits for tapping. They didn't last very long. IDK but good luck again brother. Maybe you just need a BFH..

I will be doing this job as soon as my wife and I close on our first house soon I have leaks at all 4 points of the manifold to block, blown up-pipes and a van turbo Im gonna put on. Im Gonna get the ceramic coated up-pipes from Clay. I can tell from this thread its gonna be a PITA. I have a couple questions. If I can find a large belt sander and lay the manifold flat on it wouldnt that get it close enough to being flat? What can I do to make the job eaiser next time if I ned to take the manifold off, would never seize work or is that too much heat for it to work? I also want to sand blast the manifolds and paint them too, does anyone sell ceramic coating paint I can rattle can on there? Thanks
