1972 F-250 Chassis dimensions

I have a '62 F-100 body that I would like to put on my '72 F-250 and I need to know what dimensions they both are and/or if they would fit.

Is that a unibody F-100? From what I can find for specs is that they had a 114" and 122" wheelbase which doesn't match up to an F-250 which had a 131 and a 149" (crewcab) wheelbase. Ford never made a unibody with 4wd because in offroad use the body would flex too much and destroy it as the frame flexes. You could swap the front axle and transfer case to the F-100 to make it easier. I have seen one done that way here in Alaska.

Yes the '62 is a unibody. Neither is 4WD, though. Thanks for the dimensions anyway.

unibody

You might have nmore luck matching it up to a 70's F-100 rather than an F-250.would you be interested in selling or trading the unibody?

No thanks. I'm slowly rebuilding the '62 and plan on keeping it, but thanks for the offer.

rare unibody

Thanks for the reply. Best wishes to you on the project. The unibody pickups are extremely rare up here in Canada, I think it is because the roads were so bad up here in the 60's that people were worried that the unibody pickups would not be able to take it. I have only seen 2 around here, one was a Mercury, which is even more rare.
