Just noticed your ranger in your signature, mind me asking about what your MPG is on it?

A cross flow I6 head will have the carb on one side and the exhaust manifold on the other. But if you find one I have to send in the ninjas to take care of ya. Nothing personal.

AFAIK, the only one that wasn't sold as crossflow but did have one made was the Aussie's 250 ford. This head will not bolt onto the 300-6 though.

That is not quite true. Of the many, many thousands of I6's, 300, 240, 250's sold in the U.S., there were only a few prototypes of a X-flow head put on a production car/truck in the U.S., and those were only on the 300. And, just to see one of those would be a once in a lifetime deal. Ask any mechanic, or ford dealer, and they will tell you they don't exist. I only have the word of one ford engineer that some were made.

As far as the 250 goes, it never saw a cross flow production head from ford in the U.S. There are alumumin aftermarket hp u flow heads available, but zero X-flow heads were made oem. Zero.

No, as far as I know, the hp aftermarket I6 heads are U flow. In Australia Ford has put X flow heads on some of their I6 engines, but IIRC they are incompatible with the US models. There are guys who have made X flows. One a.m. producer makes them for the 300, but for drag racing only, w/o coolant flow, for $5k.

Some guys take various heads, 351, 302, cut them in three pieces and join them together.

A good read. Once you scroll down to the Australian portion.

Haven't been to very many junk yards, but a while back I picked up a older police siren for $5, then spent about another $15 in parts, and I now have it mounted under the hood of my '79. Also found a left black door panel for my '78, paid only about a dollar for it.

Dang I wish I had had my camera....

I wish I had brought my camera with me on my JY run, but today I saw a late 80's- earky 90's F250/350 with dual whells all around. Both front and back. If I get back down there, some 50 odd miles, I will try to remember to bring my camera.

I will try to get pics of it. I have no idea about whether or not it was 4X4.

Seeing that 67 highboy and knowing it got crushed made me die a little inside...The 2 yards that are near my home have alot of 2wd bumpsides...I dont like seeing those in there but there were plenty made. Seeing a highboy in a junkyard breaks my heart. And seeing a 67 highboy is just so sad. they only made just over 3800 highboys in 1967. I wish i could have saved it.
