My biggest grip is how the bed is lower than the cab
That's probably why Ford installed their OEM steps on some of them. I thought I saw an aftermarket rocker extension panel that makes up the difference.

Its easy to fix. All you have to do is pull the bed off and either make yourself some spacers of get some mounting bushings from LMC. It looks great when its done.

No thanks. I want the body lines to line up, not be off by 2 inches
All Flaresides had the OEM side step, and the bed just carried that body line. Unfortunately the steps mounting hardware rust away after 4 years, and every one gets rid of them... and no aftermarket steps line up right. It's becoming more rare to see a flareside with a factory step nowadays. I hate the way my bed hangs down the extra 2 inches...

Thanks for clearing that up for me. I actually thought that every Flareside came with them but didn't want to miss-speak if they didn't.
If I owned one and didn't have the side step, or didn't want them on, I would probably make a custom rocker panel cover that mimics the one on the bed. And I'd make sure that it lines up with the bottom of the bed. Now there very well could be something like it that was already manufactured, or still available for sale; not sure though. Just a thought.
@ 2Fords- maybe it's a new england thing then. The winter salt and crappy weather takes it's toll on the hardware around here. I still have my steps (all f-glass) but the hoops and supports? rusted away...In time I am going to have a local welder fab me some replacements, just waiting for some $.
I actually wouldnt mind the factory looking fiberglass steps, but i have never seen em on a crewcab. And up here the tube frame work for them always rots out and they fall off
