Progress ... hanging sheetmetal!!

Hi Guys! Had a great time with the truck yesterday. We finally made the Toys in the Sun Run event. This is where they shut down the major express ways for a huge caravan of motorcycles and vehicles. We were second in the procession after the VIP motorcycle riders. I had participated on my bike over 20 years ago but it was a special thrill in the rig. Its hard to imagine 30 thousand bikers on the road. This is a charity event benefiting needy and sick children. I did have one incident there that pissed me off. I was staged in line maybe 4 feet between my truck and my friends 1950 ALF when some bikers decided to move. There was room enough for a regular bike but this idiot tried squeezing through on his trike! We all started yelling at him and my wife stood in front of him blocking him from going any further. His fender was right on my front bumper and if he had gone through the opening it would of left a nice scratch. He had the nerve to say he didn't care if he scratched it. His bike was pushed back and he barely squeezed through. Other then this incident we had a great time and will be back next year. I have a bunch of quick videos and will try and upload them to YouTube later to show them. There were some interesting people walking around as the pictures show!!

First pic I recall of the whole family, best pic yet A trike?, no wonder, usually a wanna be. Don't get me wrong, they are a great bike for the disabled. Its just when I used to ride it was usually the guy on the trike that well you know. I'm glad there was no scratch, and you all had a wonderful day.

Wow! I think I;v been going to the wrong parades. At least now I know what to ask for for Xmas...lol
I'm glad you had a great time. I'm amazed at how much the boys have grown, they have really shot up.
I'm not a big fan of trikes, my thoughts are that you might as well buy a small car and just take the doors off...LOL. Of course I say that because I'm still able to ride, I imagine I might change my tune if I were disabled. I'm glad the trike guy didn't ruin the event for you.

A few weeks ago, I was contacted by someone affiliated with the Boca Raton Concours d'Elegance show. He said he heard about my truck and wanted it in the upcoming event on February 10-12. They are having a special class (non-judged) of vintage commercial vehicles. I said I would be interested but I thought it was too far to drive to. He said he would ask around and see about a towing service. Recently, he called and said they would pay to have the truck towed to and from the event. I am thrilled to have it on display at such a high profile event. The grand marshal is Wayne Carini, who is the host of the TV show Chasing Classic Cars. My boys and I have been watching the show for years so it will be nice to meet him and maybe get a picture next to the truck. I had sent him a pic of the truck a few years ago and never got a response. The only downside is that it will be left out overnight. I bought a new RV cover for it for use in case it rains. I am working on getting a custom cover made but since the event is 2 weeks away I don't think that will happen. They are also having security there. It still makes me nervous about leaving the rare bell on the truck which can be removed quickly. Would you guys leave the bell or just put it on the morning of the show? Would it seem tacky to do that? Friends say don't worry but that bell would be very hard to replace. The truck will be picked up on Saturday afternoon and he is looking for a good place to park it until Sunday morning when it goes on the field in the commercial truck area. I will take plenty of pics of course to share here. Here is a link to the show if anyone's interested. Event
