Factory Towing Mirrors/Hardware

Hi all,

My truck has the really big factory tow mirrors on it. Well the hardware around the door is rusting a dripping down the door and its driving me nuts. I would like to replace it for stainless bolts and washers.

Might be a stupid question, but what holds the bolts in place on the door? Is there a welded nut on the other end or do I have to take off the inside panel and hold a nut?

Ok thanks. I didn't think it was going to be as easy as backing out the old bolts and putting in new ones

Might want to put a little RTV in there when you put it back together. It'll help prevent it from rusting in the future. Just a thought

RTV and the stainless hardware sounds like a winner. I have the smaller mirrors and am wondering how to mount the bigger tow mirrors. I'm guessing there will be some drilling needed?
